Accommodation (Vietnam)

Accommodation in Vietnam is not a big worry. You get quality and fully equipped rooms for prices less than ₹2000/day. You may get rooms for about ₹500-700/day also, if you choose to stay in hostels or backpacker stays. We have never struggled to get good quality rooms in the best areas at the best prices. All the cities including Hanoi are affordable. Ho Chi Minh city is a little bit costlier than the rest of them in terms of accommodation and food in the prime areas.

City wise best areas to find accommodation in Vietnam are as under:

Hanoi: Old Quarter

Old quarter is a tourist spot by itself. With multiple streets cutting down the area into blocks, walking around old quarter makes you feel that you are in a huge puzzle finding your way to your destination. There are many hotels, hostels and stay options in this area catering to all the budgets. You may get dormitories for as low as ₹700/day. This, hands down, the best area to stay in Hanoi. Hire a motorbike and explore the whole city.

Da Nang: Near My Khé beach

My Khé beach is the most preferred beach of Da Nang by the tourists. There are numerous stay options and food options in this area. Whenever you are selecting to stay in Da Nang, go for the one near to the beach. You may get prices of under ₹1500/day for a good hotel here. Da Nang has a long coast line with several beaches interconnected. You may also stay near the Son Tra peninsula. Further towards Hoi An, you will find more private beaches of resorts and big hotels. Unless your budget is high and you want to enjoy the private beaches, stick to the public My Khé beach area.

Hoi An: old town

Hoi An is quite developed now. Areas near to the river is the old town of Hoi An for which the tourists flock this small town. Stay around this area if you want to get the total feel of Hoi An during your entire stay. The stays are affordable with many food options.

Ho Chi Minh: District 1

District 1 is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Ho Chi Minh city. It might cost you around ₹2000/day to get a decent hotel in this area specially near the Ben Thanh market or Saigon square. Almost all the major monuments, walking street and parks are within 1-1.5 km of Ben Thanh market. You may explore them on foot. There is no dearth of food options in this area. Almost all the shopping malls or markets are also located in this area. You will surely have fun living here.
