How to Reach (Kerala)
Since, Kerala is very well connected to all parts of India whether by air, rail or road route, you do not need to worry much about how to reach. There are several options that you may find as per your time and suitability. The arrival point may vary depending on your itinerary. The most common itinerary involves arrival and departure to and from Kochi (Cochin) respectively.
Flights
Almost all domestic flight operators operate flights (direct or connecting) from different cities in India to Kochi or Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum). If you are travelling from a far-off state in India, you may choose flights. Since, Kochi has more flight operators, the flight costs are lesser. Whereas, travelling to and from Tiruvananthapuram might be slightly costlier. We took a one stop flight from our city to Kochi which cost us about ₹6500 per person. Since, we were short on time, our return flight was from Tiruvananthapuram which cost us around ₹9300 per person.
Trains
If you are train lover and you may avail of a longer holiday, then, you may take a train to Ernakulam railway station in Kochi from anywhere in India. You may also look for trains to other cities to accommodate your itinerary. Except Wayanad and Idukki (Munnar & Thekkady), all other district sof Kerala are well connected by Indian railways. Some other major railway stations in Kerala are Kasargod, Triuvananthapuram, Alleppey, Kozhikode, Kottayam and Kollam. So no matter where you have to go, you will have the option to travel by train.
Road
Kerala shares its borders with Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Apart from trains, you may choose a bus or hire a taxi from any city in these states to reach Kerala as well.
