The weather of Kashmir is pleasant throughout the year. Due to its location in the north it is bound by the Himalayas. Summers
Summers extend from early May to Late August which the peak season to visit Kashmir. Hence, the best season as all the gardens in Srinagar are in full bloom, Gulmarg is lush green and Sonmarg and Pahalgam offer stunning views. The weather is pleasant, clear and gorgeous making it the perfect destination for spending summer vacations. The daytime can become warm and the nights will be cold. So, even if it is summers, make sure to carry light woolen clothes or shawls or just grab something from the local market if you do not wish to carry extra luggage.
Caution: Goes without saying that summers being the peak season, and, tourism being the major contributor to the Economy, the prices of almost everything shoots up during this season. Travel, stay and entertainment become expensive. The sky rocketing prices are an effect of the huge demand and the only mode of income in some places. Rains
Rainfall is not even throughout Kashmir. Different parts of Kashmir experience different amount of rainfall. The weather of Kashmir is quite cool after the summer heat but the rains may spoil the fun. Winters
